ok, back again and it turns out i'm actually pretty happy with the block i have weather it be a 4 or 2 bolt block, it is definitely a 4V (as venturi for 4 Barrel) and hopefully if the heads are the matching stock one's they will be, 351C 2V 62.8 2.19/1.71 Closed chamber, Which i would also be happy with. Brings me to my next question, but pretty sure i no the answer lol... Is there anyway of telling the difference between a 2V open or closed chamber head, while it's still mounted to the block??
I have the covers off but from what i've learned so far, you need a look at the underside for proper verification... Is this so?? Also I read something about 2 little bulges at the seamline join to the head and block that verify certain types of different head's does anyone know anything about this? (this may of been for cleveland and windsor head differences though, i can't seem to find the same article again). Really don't want to pull the head's off before i take it to the workshop if i don't have too... Thnx again for any help on this

[9B1=1st Feb 1969] D2AE-CA (D=1970's decade/E=1980's/C=1960's etc.., 2= The year/1972, A= Model design/full sized Ford, E= Engineering component/Engine)= 1972 351C, 4 Venturi, Bore 4.00, Deck 9.206, and 2 bolt mains (but Ford also fitted 4 bolt mains to 2V's (venturis) and 2 bolt mains to 4V's).
The D2AE-CA **1 & **2-4 block and date stamp codes were used in the 351C Boss, 351C C-71 CJ, HO 72-74 4V, and also used in standard family saloons/station wagons as 2V (venturi) set up's, and even though they should only come with 2 bolt mains, 4 bolt main blocks have also been discovered. I also have a T5 5spd manual out of an XF S pack i'd like to put in, but finding a bell housing is proving to be difficult or expensive :/

Hi again, so i got a single-rail bell-housing to fit my T5 Borg Warner, just hope i don't balls up the conversion :-/
Also it seems i have a Low-Rise Single-Plane Intake Manifold, which i was really hoping for a Dual-Plane Intake, for better low end to mid range torque. Still gotta do more research on the heads, but Pretty sure these are open-chambered 2v Heads, and from what i've researched so far is the worst of the lot for power and better for emissions. Anyone with any advice on the best way to utilise these heads with the parts i already have (am considering selling/swapping my intake for a Dual-Plane if the opportunity arises) is hugely appreciated. I am replacing and so need to figure out what Cam set up i want, pretty sure i'm going with a Roller Cam rather than the more expensive Hydraulic. Will also spend the money taking the heads to a machine shop if it's going to be worth it, or consider aftermarket heads but that's really going to blow out my budget and time frame :-/ Anyone with any suggestions that could maybe help me with speeding up the process or can see anything majorly wrong that i'm doing? would be most graciously accepted Thnx again, Regards, Marco.R
