Are your heads open or closed chamber 2vs?
Also it doesnt matter if its hyd/solid or roller, As they get bigger, the overlap increases which is why your comp needs to be higher otherwise you will have an engine that wont perform from low comp. And the reason its hard to find one your after is because with your combo there is plenty of hyd cams that give you what your after. As the solid and roller cams are designed for racing and as such even there smallest 1 is equal to lets say a stage 4 hyd cam. With comp ratio, a 351 with open chamer heads is around 9.0:1, if speed pro flat top pistons are used it lifts comp to 10.0:1. And then if U want more you can fit closed chamber heads and will give a comp ratio of around 12.0:1. That might sound high but remember the only reason your bumping the comp up so much is because the cam your going to use is going to have large valve overlap which will reduce the comp. My friends xd runs this setup and runs fine on mobil premium fuel. Try crane cams they are quiet good.

can you explain overlap a bit more if posible !
ive got 4v in 2v open , pistons for a 6 inch rod but ive machined a bit from top to give me 9.5 comp ( which i wish i never did ) id still prefer solid over4 hyd for the more positive force , ive had hyd lifters fail and stick in past and i hardly drive car thanks for the reply , ill check out crane |

I've got one that I was about to advertise next week. Its a johnson racing cams custom, solid flat tappet (lifters included) IN opens @ 27 btdc ,closes @ 60 atdc EX opens @64 bbdc, closes @25 atdc all mesurements are @ .050'' lift at cam .365 IN (.631'' at valve with 1.73 rockers) EX .370'' @ cam (640 @ valve '' '' '') I only used it for 2-3 months as I upgraded to a roller this cam is not for the faint hearted capable of up to 550hp+ . I could get it to idle at 1200rpm with 4V heads power range 3400-7500rpm P.M me if interested I'm not asking for much

as it is a mild engine you wouldn't want to go too big in the cam say 240 @ 050
also the 6" rods will give you high cyl pressures , be careful of that. Do you have the finances to go roller ? a complete roller setup will be 2k plus. as you have low comp yyou don't want too much overlap other wise it really will be a dog down low. there will be a few cranes say F242 that i have used that will be more than enough. the wrong cam choice here will make or break your engine.

I was just looking at a few spec cards off clevo customs
and found a cam with 225deg @.050 in & ex with .596'' & .618'' lift & it only requires 9.0-10.5 comp this was good for 450hp depending on mods & you only have to rev it to 6000rpm with a fair idle!
