Hi Guys,
Pete, (XR9UTE) if your still on this forum would love your input! I Currently have an EBII XR8 Falcon with Injected 5.0L, I Am looking for more power to drift, Car has been completely Gutted all that remains is the engine and t5. We are wondering if we can simply put a 351 crank into the engine, and if so, what cam and heads would be ideal? Or any other input is appreciated. Regards, Pickdrift |

sorry it won't fit. thats why they have different blocks for each. See Terroristghia's build thread on fitting a 351W if you like viewtopic.php?f=53&t=65071

I Was under the impression that the blocks were the same? we have also swapped an older 302 and 351 crank heads etc with no troubles..... if not, whats a cheap easy way to inc HP on the 5.0l or even change engine to a carburetor 351? the car will not need to be Engineered or registered or anything...

Clevelands are the same block but not Windsors I'm afraid. most people seem to think there is no cheap way to get big HP from these later Windsors, so a 351W with carby might be the go to keep the dollars down a bit.

fairlane6970, Thanks heaps for the help.
So from the sounds of it we need a complete 351W carby motor? T5 still bolt on ok? It seems alot like it would be easier to run a larger injected motor? Cheers... |

You can get EFI inlet for 351.. With 24/ 32Lb injectors, 70+mm maf [Lightning maf and injectors ?] and all the 5.0 EFI fits...
The hoses on 5.0 fuel rails require extending longer but that's not hard to do.. The 351W crank has massive 3" mains...

Do what EBXR says. and look at the 351w into XE thread above which has a lot of clues for this.
Cheers. |
