Yeah I gathered the intake and throttle body would make it illegal. Why would the trickflow setup be a better choice?

And wouldnt it just be a blue slip ( engine change) with the 5.8L conversion?

Simply because it's a proper EFI intake with nearly equal runner lengths that bellmouth into a large common plenum. They work better than carb type intakes.

Why wouldn't you want to go EFI?!?

I am pretty sure he meant use a 4 barrel efi throttle body and 351W 4 barrel intake with injector bosses, I wonder if he is thinking of buying one of those setups from Ebay in the states? I was thinking of buying one.

That is like only taking a picture of my thumb and saying this is me

Come on post some more pictures, you could add them to your gallery, at least when someone spots your username, they might get interested and have a look at your gallery to see what you have done.

One day "BRAD" might make a garage (members car profile) similar to this, http://gmboatanchors.com/modules/garage ... view&gid=1 (I think it could be improved) Then a button could be added like the buttons now at the bottom of every members post.
Fuzion brought that idea up about 4yrs ago.

Sorry mate. This was the first pic I have ever posted and I was just seeing if it worked.
Dial up is so slow.

 I was only stirring so you post more pictures, yeah I know the feeling with dialup, I'm on 1500k and when it is shaped (back to 64k which is far better than the 8k difference it looks on paper) I am s**t off waiting for pages to open plus uploads and downloads.

Just log on, upload picture, fill the kettle and turn on, go to the toilet, come back and make a coffee and sit down just as the picture has finished uploading, next few pictures think about mowing the lawn or vacuuming the house, or my more likely task, have a Nana nap.

If you haven't got it engineered it is a good idea to look factory, a mate had a fairly late 460 fitted to a XD Ghia back in the early 90s in Rockhampton, the 460 looked like the 351C it replaced (to non Ford buffs) with EGR, PCV, stock electronic dissy, stock intake and exhaust manifolds, so back then as far as most dumb a*** know it all cops knew it was stock.

351EL, tell us a little about the conversion.
Any problems, pulley/belt change, extractor issues (custom or genies, pacies, standard, etc.) bonnet clearance.

& how did you overcome any problems ?

Well until 351EL pipes up...... my old 351 from the ute is now in an EB. It goes very well. I replaced the comp cam that was in it(see the sticky thread above) to the same one except for a 114 degree lobe separation. I port matched the Edelbrock intake to the heads(stock 40Y's) and straightened/port matched the upper to the lower.
It makes fantastic torque everywhere(455lb/ft) and around 300hp at the peak.

OK I will get to it.
I have to pull the motor out again yes again as the motor I installed was rooted. It may seem like a lot of work to some of ya but I didn't want to shell out for a reco'd motor and have a shed ornament because I got knocked back on the mod plate which I have now so she is now legal.
As for performance I believe it is not where you start it is where you finish.
