does anyone know who makes the clevo timing covers or the distributors of them .i know ford muscle parts and another old ford parts supplyer down south sell them for $120 ,but what pisses me off is that they were selling the covers for $80 at the end of last year and start of this year! why do they jump $40 in a couple of months for a flat peice of steel plate. my cousin works at a spare parts store , he just needs the name of the manufacturer or distributor , (FINGER)FORDMUSCLEPARTS, theres not many specialty shops up here in DARWIN ,NT.

s**t mate i haven't seen an after market cover for the Clevo, but as you said it's a joke for a flat piece of tin.
I've got one in the shed for mine, but i'll have a look and see if i have a spare laying around if you like? |

Grab the Just parts magazine. I seem to remember FMP or someone like that making CNC alloy ones for clevelands just lately. Do you have a Coventrys branch up there? they should have new ones...I think mine cost about $40 for the genuine Ford part...of course that was eight years ago. I was surprised that you could still get a genuine part.
One thing worth doing is welding the ends of the pan gasket retainer to the plate as they are only spot welded in a couple of places and the ends can lift up and cause a leak. Pete. |

Got to agree with you on the timing cover. I've kept one spare. the one on my engine is on it's last legs. After this engines gone, it'll go in the bin.
Then the spare will become usefull. An alloy one would be nice but make sure you block is well grounded. Otherwise electrolisis will eat it.
