MICKYYYY - I'm actually building the engine myself, and machining has already been done.

I've just run over the numbers. A 22cc dished piston with 58cc gtp heads and a gasket volume of 9.5cc will still come to a comp ratio of 9.1:1.
I haven't taken into consideration deck height yet. But it still seems much too high, i may have to look into using different heads.

quick look on summit reveals forged SRPs with a 24cc dish.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SRP-138722/ plugged into a comp calc it comes to 8.9:1 with 58cc chamber, .040 compressed head gasket and piston .010 down the bore. 5cc more will get you to 8.5.

5k to building it urself u can get some H beam rods and upgrade to ARP2000 rod bolts and i like SRP pistons for budget but have read good things about Probe.

Yeah, the Forged 22cc Probe pistons are looking like the winner at the moment. Will cost less than the SRP from summit also, after currency exchange, handling and shipping.
I would prefer to get comp ratio down to at least 8.7:1. I might look into some Ally heads from the states. Some good deals have come up on the turbomustang forums, but many of the members don't want to ship to Australia. $1200 AUS for victor jr heads with less than 300 miles, Second-hand brand new AFR 185's for $1600 US. Looking at ARP2000 rod bolt prices, will be a good idea me thinks.

With your short block, I figure it's a non roller. Will you be using a roller in it? Also, what dizzy will you be using?
I'm gathering a parts list for my nat asp 351 and looking about for these parts. Looking for the roller conversion kits in particular. |

It is a roller block! '94 + F-150 trucks have roller blocks. Brisbane Direct Imports have bottom-ends for $795.
I have sourced a Reco'd EFI 351 dizzy for the cost of postage

Any estimate for the miles they have done? |

Yeh they are only decent for a reco! Two of the pistons on my bottom-end have severe wear.
But cam still looks quite good and comes with lifters, but no sump, oil pump or oil pick up. I can post up some pic's of the bottom-end before machining if you like mate.

Yes please, also can you use a 5.0 sump and pickup or do you need a special 351 one?
I'd be happy with the short, so long as the bores were virgin and it still had the crank and rods. |

Sumps and pick-ups are different to 302's. The bottom-end comes as a standard bore complete bottom-end, minus sump and oil pick up. Very good buy in my opinion.
Will get some pics up tonight mate.

download/file.php?mode=view&id=32363 download/file.php?mode=view&id=32364 Sorry, all the pics i could get before batteries died! That is the worst piston out of the bunch, looks like some serious detonation was going on. Block is the same as the 302 bar the 1.3" higher deck height. Does anyone know the Dish of the stock 351 hyperuetectic pistons?
