Was just wondering if anyone has put a 351 into an XG before and how they went about it, my original plan was rebuild motor with a turbo but found some reco'd 351's on ebay for cheaper than what the turbo and rebuild setup would cost me,
Any help on the emissions regulations n stuff like that as well as whether its better of going car by or converting it to EFi,
Just wanna know what is involved and how much work im going to be up for,
Cheers

Find a v8 from an ea-ef and you should be fairly straight forward considering you'll need a matching v8 ecu and engine loom maybe some other bits :)

You probably could throw in an au v8 but would be more involved, but still I don't really think it would be that hard. I personally haven't done an xg -au v8 conversion before but if you source the right ecu and wiring harness you should be sweet.

Have a read thru this....
Maybe an ea-ed v8 would be your best bet and get the ea- ed engine ay loom keep in mind if your Ute has a tacho on the cluster this will need to be disconnected and replaced.with an aftermarket tacho as it s only for q six

XG has an XF Firewall (also EA, EB etc) , and its not going to suit a 351C.

The Engine is going to block your heater hoses, and the p/s of the firewall will need modifications for clearance on the engine.

the Injected Windsor (EB-AU) fits ok - there are a few threads on xfalcon.com.

I did an XF 5.0 EFI, and it was a little more work due to XF Trans mounts but for yours, it should be
Use XD or XE Engine mount plates, XD/E engine mounts, and bolt in.

Oh yeah - you'll need engineering, but its not that hard

What you can't read the sticky at the top of the page? The firewall is a non-issue.
