yeah i meant to say that cam is tiny, perfect for towing if thats what you want, but I think a bigger cam would help but then you need carb/exhaust/diff gears to match, stock 4V's will work from 3500 to 5500, but that kinda cam would make your car less streetable and would NEED 3.5's, it's always gonna come down to your budget especially if you are paying someone to wrench for you.

nah mate, doing all the work myself, and i must ask why are the diff gears such an issue when doing cams and that?

the higher the RPM range of the camshaft the more it needs to rev to make power, you need numerically higher gear ratio to let it rev, it will work with mismatched gears but the performance will be lacking, ie slow off the line, bogs down.
Plus diff gears are a cheap performance upgrade, with your 4V's a bigger cam and 3.5's will really make a huge difference, you would loose some economy but it'l be worth it! The problem I see having the most effect is that the gas mixer is going to restrict things. |

The name stage 1 means nothing in real terms, it is advertising hype, stating the duration, lift and lobe separation is the real world way of stating what cam you have.
One companies stage one can be closer to another companies stage two or be a totally different animal. _________________ YES DAMAGE senior moderator and all that, pic of a f450 or something

4V's and turbo chargers would make for a bloody lethal combo.

Amen to that.(sits here wishing I had 4V's) that Bwarned corty runs worked iron 4V's.

Even in a basic combo (single turbo and unported 4V's) it would be more than enough for the street and could be a possible single digit runner on the strip provided the bottom end can take the punishment.

hey there, I use 4V closed chamber heads on my clevo, but have also had experience with 4V's & lpg= they don't mix as gas requires more vacuum than petrol to supply a correct mixture at lower rpm & "usually" by the time there is enough suction, the mixer is at its peak cfm.
An option for keeping the beasts is to use those inlet/exhaust tongues advertised in the mags. My engine was a complete dog under 3500rpm but never dropped off until 8000rpm (big cam, nascar block etc) What inlet manifold do you use? I found lpg to work realy well with a single plane+ 2'' spacer. The phase3 cam also works quite well with gas.

What about the alloy CHI 3V heads. Both small and large port versions. They are what a 4V head should have been.
