hi guys, i finally just got myself a eb 5.0, i want it to pull hard up to around 180... it has a fresh engine (no more than 600klm's old) any ideas on mods??? (eg: cams & so on) i figure 180 is fast enough to get me into trouble, flat to the floor... i don't want to cop any grief, i would truely like some honest feedback, i have no intention of doing these speeds on the highway, only on the strip... its a totally std car...

all depends on how much you want too spend and how much work you want too do. a good start is a set of underdrive pulleys, extractors, exhaust then a set of 40p heads, cam and an explorer manifold then maf and t/body or you could go nuts and get a set of alloy heads and aftermarket intake manifold and all the other go fast bits. just depends on how deep your pockets are. or if budget is limited you could look at a dif ratio change to get her moving a bit quicker.

Here is a good start for some mods. Once you have the Explorer manifold and GT40P heads all other mods you do will make a bigger difference than they will with the standard engine you have.

Why do you want to go to 180 for? You can buy a 6 and get to 180. Do you want something that is quick or something that is fast?

He asked for advice on how to make it pull hard to 180. read first reply later.

my advice - bolt a supercharger on, either a powerdyne or a vortech (I'd go vortech v2 )

or 100hp of spray... That's about the best HP for $$$ mod you can get. ;) I won't improve the top speed but it will get there a lot quicker!

to be hitting 180kph by the end of the 1/4 you'll need a bit of power...

im only getting to the high 160's XH5LWPN is running about the same 13.9 & 13.6 respectively..

180kph is a 112mph pass thats pretty quick...

my vote would be for good heads, cam, intake and then spray it..

Yeh do you have a budget gsbloke?
You'll need around 10k to get it blown, but with that you might be able to squeeze in extractors + exhaust.

krisisdog, no i dont have a budget, as i havn't put a time limit on this build, its more of a toy car than anything else, i also have a nice eb 6 cyl that i have not long finished, i understand that i prob should put a cap on the final figure, but, this build is mostly happening cause i have been looking on this fantastic site & have read both good & bad things about these v8's & i would like to form my own first hand opinion...
