Just try the factory timing you should be fine with that, and with the pinging you now that you dont have to hear it for it to ping mate.. id just set to the factory and be done.

Problem solved Thanks everyone for your input. A special thanks to Raptor XR8.
It turned out to be the MAF. Im very happy with the way it performs now I just effortlessly tore the rear tyres to shreds.

Hey thats great to hear..
Mine is still gutless. Replaced the MAF, and fuel pump, fuel filter, coil, leads, TFI, rotor and dizzy cap. Timing is set to 32... havent checked the TPS setting yet.. Mine just doesnt rev.. its like its held back. I mean compared to my NL i6 fairlane (i imagine there are differences in how the two rev) but the NL is like a rocket compared to the 5L. It has a 2.5 exhaust and that is all. 5L just doesnt want to rev. The 5L has the 2.5 inch as well. Thinking it might be injectors.. she smells rich though. so I am of two minds.. could it be the O2 sensor? Theres no smoke out the back or anything like that. Does anyone know what the specs are for 5l injectors.. are they 19lbs etc..xyz voltage etc ? Repco want $138.00 each.. which is redicululous. I am thinking I'll get them from Summit racing or something. |

check your throttle body, the butterfly might not be opening and closing properly. There is good info in this thread with checks to make before you go out and buy new injectors. It would be worth doing a diagnostics check although i am not familiar with the procedure without the code reader, otherwise you might want to try the dealership, they werent very helpful for me but you never know they might be for you.
