Hi Everyone, I hope someone can help me. My EL 5.0 is frustrating the hell outta me.
The problem I have is when I put my foot flat to the floor in my car it struggles and is hesitant, when I lift my foot a little the power seems to increase. I have fitted new plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor, fuel pump. I have checked the tps setting. I am at a loss as too what the problem is, It feels like it is starving of fuel. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated :?

Do a fault scan, KOEO, KOER, Cylinder balance. This will highlight problems or eliminate many things. It should ALWAYS be the first thing done. The onboard fault logging is very powerful.

I have fitted a new fuel filter. How do I check the airflow meter other than a visual(its clean)
Is there any way I can check log codes myself. My local dealer isnt very helpful and this site has been gold for me for the past four years :D
The lack of power i am experiencing is only at wide open throttle.

Checked throttle body and its opening and closing as it should. Im not sure what the timing should be. Engine has a few mods including flat top pistons, roller rockers, balanced. Heads are stock. Cam is stock.

Well if you have replaced both the fuel pump and the fuel filter then I'd check the timing.

Dont forget that it has to be in self test mode when doing the timing.
Also bump it to 34-35 degrees and run 98 fuel.

It is high compression, 10.7-1 i think, ACL Race series engine kit flat top pistons,1.72 ratio roller rockers, Crow 7333 double valve springs. I run 98 octane in it because it is high compression.
