Im looking to rip the eseries timing cover and reverse waterpump from my 5.0 and fit a 302 timing cover and normal rotation waterpump so I can delete my PS and aircon, and fit a vbelt pulley system.
Will the timing cover fit? Will the vbelt pulley that fits on the 5.0 balancer be at the right height for the rest of the pulleys? PS noone say go buy a PS aircon deleter bracket from march performance because the damn things dont fit australian 5.0 timing covers.

Mate I did that exact same thing when i put the 5.0 into my Maverick 4x4. I still have PS and air but I had to go to V belt cause the serpentine belt setup hit my chassis rails.
The KC replacemment timing covers for early models do fit. You will need to go to the bolt shop but as some bolts are different lengths. If you are not putting the dipstick in thru the timing cover DO NOT forget to plug the hole off. Otherwise you will be chasing a suspected sump leak for 6 weeks like I did.........................very embarrasing. I put an XY water pump on with passengers side hose drop. A Cleveland 4 bolt bottom pulley will bolt straight up to a EFI balancer. I used all clevo pulleys. I just had to shorten the top one for it all to work. A redline Clevo alternator bracket kit fits as well. I was told by many people that it wont work but I did it anyway and it all works fine. Matt

What model was the march piece for? Do you want to eliminate the whole pwr steer/a/c bracket? I'd make my own idler pulley bracket and stay with the serpentine drive. Much cheaper and better than a V-belt setup. |
