The strokers haul a** more than the 260 Boss'. (Sound better too) Lol, a manual 5.6 runs around about a 14.1 .. which is serious a** haulage. read john bowe got one into a 13.9 in testing

I own one the other day I had my son in the car (20yrs old) and he asked how well they go so at 75km/h I went back to second and smoked tyres as we sling shot up the road. To date I haven't seen an unedited or non stock boss that can give those sort of goods. I ran a 260 boss with at least an exhaust and even looking in the rear view mirror where it's hard to tell with the lack of three dimensional perception I was pulling away from him. he tried to get me to run him two or three times pulling beside and then nailing it and when I finally did I smoked him. |

howdy, I have just recently bought a mk2 BA XR8 with the FPV motor, and all I can say is once you re flash the ECU with the capa ford flasher to a custom tune, is
"DON'T" take one on at the lights unless you have something pretty special under the hood! on the dyno with standard exhaust etc mine made 319rwhp, with 20-30 more expected once a system is fitted next weekend.

my AU XR8 got into the 13.9 with minimal money spent (exhaust extractors, cold air intake and 3.9 diff gears). with the au edit out now the 13's should be fairly easy to get into.
regards from adam

What's a "mk2 BA XR8 with the FPV motor". Obviously it's a series 2 BA XR8, but I've never heard of an "FPV motor" equipped one... |

A T3 with a couple of dollars spent (probably still a bit less that what you've spent) will hand you your a** on a plate with it's 250kg weight advantage. |

O.K look at the engine #
and total amount spent on enhancments ,will be $2000 inc' exhaust, mid 13 sec all day, with good drivability? 40 years newer technology than the old windsor. its time to move on, these are the future of ford V8 engines, and with the newer model getting some variable timed camshafts, even bigger power will be achivable from simple bolt on components that are cheap and readily available. I have seen a GT on the rollers with a completely stock unopened engine produce 468rwkw with a vortech bolted on, show me a windsor that can do that?

What the factory gets and what is real world are 2 different things matey. There are real world conditions, driver error etc that would factor in on that 15s quarter mile time. Thats exactly right, and i have found factory times to be a bit off the mark aswell. My Fairlane is rated at 16.2 from the factory, totally stock mine ran a 15.5 with 220,000 on the clock. Hey paul how u doin? Yeah the fairlane is also rated at 0-100 in 8.1 (i think) but my 5.0 did it in 7.32 adn ran a 15.9 stock (kn pannel filter + xr8 snorkle) at calder with 460,000 onthe clock! |
