I know that this has probaly been posted a few times but im looking at fitting a 5 litre into an XG ute. The motor is out of a DF LTD if that helps.

Reason being is that I would like a nice V8 powered Falcon ute but Im just not keen on the AU / BA look and prefer the look of the XG / XH Series and trying to find a XR8 X Series ute is not easy to come by.

Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Justin

Size wise it is do-able as there was a 302 in the xe falcon, and afaik xe,xf and xg use the same front end (for the most part). I reckon you would just need some xe v8 engine mounts to put it in.

I think your biggest issue would be running it, as there was no xf or xg v8, you'd have to find an ecu compatible with the motor and your xg cluster. (if such a beast exists)

Then you have all your other bits, extractors, accessories etc. An xh ute would be a better donor i think. Has an ef k frame and ef/el dash so any ef/el 5l ecu would run the motor and dash. No need to engineer the motor than.

Xf and XG would need to be engineered as a 5L wasn't an option in either of those models.

Hope that helps
Justin

Here's my XG van. I used AU EECV but this is certainly not necessary and would be much easier for you to use EB-ED stuff.
