Stick with what you have and get 4>2>1 extractors if you haven't got any yet.

ive got a single 2.5" with single mufflerv on my za(cam, extractor, 4brl, and headwork) and its so f....ing loud............. louder than my mates 360 charger with the same setup.

I want a bigger exhaust but less or equal noise?

i have twin cats into single 3" system, single muffler and rear resonator. not exactly droney but it is loudish but in a good way. i occaisonally take the missus and my daughter in my car and they don't complain about the noise so its not that bad. not sure if it makes a lot of difference to the sound but mine is cammed with some porting in the heads and intake and it sounds pretty tough if i do say so myself

stuck my head under the other day only to realise i have no rear resi. only has centre muffler. not overly loud though.

its not a twin system so can't comment on clearance issues (twin cats scrape on some humps).

twin 3" is too big for a NA setup in my opinion, you will lose bottom end power.

if you're going for a duel system, i think twin 2.25" will do it.

i recently go my car exhausted...
PH4000's, into dual 2.5's crossover, 1 straight thru muffler on each side, under the diff and out the back.

sounds tuff as, and as far as i can tell has lost nothing down low and breathes a whole lot better up top. its alsoo very quiet with no throttle but when you get up it its nice n loud.

the car is so far stock other than the zorst, but with much more to come.

i fitted the extractors myself and to have the system fitted up was $650 (all custom made, reusing original cats.)

Yeah i've had clearance issues with going a twin 2.5" all the way through.
Had to go into a y piece and make it 3" over the axles. Thats only because of the height of the car, etc and the way it squats under power.

I recently put a Herrod dual 2.5inch system on my AU3 and couldn't be happier. Nice note, not too loud and noticeable improvement in driveability, power and torque.

How many, and what size mufflers are used on the Herrod system? And is the an X-pipe or balance pipe in it?
