Toll transport moved my Eb from Mount Isa to Mackay and it has never run since which is now 18 months ago ( Thanks Toll you dodgy mother*******s ). I can start the car but after about a minute or so the car starts idling really violently between 300rpm and 1000rpm, blows smoke and fuel out the exhaust and eventually the car stalls. If you try and drive the car and If you put your foot on the accelerator when it starts playing up there is no power and when you pull over and turn the ignition off for a couple of minutes, and then turn the car back on it runs normally for a few minutes until it starts playing up again.
I cannot find any mechanics here that want to work on it as they are only after easy money for simple servicing, the one mechanic who did look at it changed my egr valve and reset the computer because he thought that was the issue. I asked what the error codes were that he got out of the computer before he reset it and was told that he didn't bother looking because he was sure it was just the egr. The eb went back to normal for about 3 hrs and then started playing up again and has been back in the shed ever since. If anyone can help fix this I will obviously pay you, either with cash or some of my NOS rare parts such as a brand new eb woodgrain momo GT steering wheels or NOS ed xr quad headlights. I just want to fix my baby. Any help will be appreciated. |

sounds to me like it could be the MAF.

I think the mechanic that worked on it said both the maf sensor and o2 sensor were fine, I have seen a couple being advertised on eBay so I was going to grab a couple
To rule this out. I was wondering if this could be a CPU issue?? |

One of the other things it could be is the map sensor, they are pretty cheap and that does point to the richness of the car!

No wuckers, If you had a series 1 EB or NC you'd have a BAP sensor which, is the same sensor as used on a 6 as MAP sensor but it's open to atmosphere. Seen many cases of rotten running V8's that so called mechanics have hooked up to the intake manifold.

Have you had a look at the fuel filter? It might be starving of fuel hence when you put the foot down it struggles.
Since it was transported, some of the gunk in the fuel tank may have been kicked up and distributed through out the fuel, this may take a very long time to settle. Once you turn the car on for the first time, all that gunk probably hadn't settled and thus gets sucked into the filter. The other thing is when you turn the car off, the fuel pump has time to fill up the line with fuel, which usually is enough to let the car run fine for a few minutes until the post filter line is not pressurised to its normal operating pressure. Hope that helps.

I did not think of fuel issues to be honest, I have put fresh premium fuel in the tank since I last used the car, I might drain the tank and change the fuel filter.
It has been mentioned to do a self test also, does someone know how to do this? I am obviously doing this incorrectly because I cannot get it to do a self test either |
