G'day,
Can ayone tell me how hard it would be and what I would have to do to install a halfcut of a Lexus V8 into my 1987 FE LTD and keep my original digital dash. Or would I be better off sticking a V8 out of an N Series Fairlane/LTD?

Yeah the dash isn't anything complicated in FE, you will need to either send the cluster away to calibrate the tacho for V8 or find some sort of tacho adapter, it reads straight from the negative on the coil like many other old cars. Pre electronic throttle 1UZFE uses two coils and two distributors, one dissy for each bank, so the coil output will show as a 4 cylinder.

The FE's fuel consumption won't work on the trip meter, it uses a data cable from the ECU, no idea what signal it uses, the data cable is only for that part of the trip meter.

As for bolting it up, I have no idea, I know Kdog from here and other forums had issues with space on a NA Fairlane.

Recommend joining lextreme.com and other forums that specialise in the 1UZFE.

I only know a little about them due to research, I wanted to fit one to the Breville toaster, then again I have plenty of stupid ideas I research into.
