Guys ... Proud new owner of a BF XR8...

But some work has been done on it ... and I have a couple of questions.

See the photos below.

{DESCRIPTION}

Q1. Notice the throttle body... I am very sure that the plastic plug is broken. When I hit the throttle and lift off .. the return to idle is VERY slow, and I can hear it sucking air. I got it to relearn and that seemed to help a lot..

Can I just replace the part ? Does it screw in... Not sure.. Is it a separate part, or am I up for a new throttle body ??

Q2. Notice he has installed a cold air intake (and under drive and 3" exhaust). What is the disconnected wire you see draped attractively over the intake piping ? Is is important ?

Q3. What is the thing with electrical tape around it . Seems to have a hose and a pipe and something electrical. Does it just float around in the engine compartment, or should it be connected.

Q4. Where is the best place to get hold of a workshop manual ?

Many tx

You could just try replacing the part IF i remember tomorrow i can get a pic of one on the I6 if tht helps at all. Might be easier to replace the throttle body I cant offer the best advice here

That wire I'm certain is for control of the BBM on the 6 cyl manifold maybe not used in the V8's (its not used on the turbo 6's

the thing with the tape around it would be the purge solenoid not sure why it would even have tape around it
id have to check how its mounted but properly shouldn't be floating around
