Nailed the throttle on a freeway entrance ramp and the serpentine belt shredded itself.
Just wanted to check, what are the idler / tensioner pulleys generally worth if I find one of them rooted?

I think the odo is about 160K and the pulleys are the original ones.
I'm curious if genuine or aftermarket versions differ from eachother in terms of quality. I'm also almost afraid to ask what Fraud will quote me.

I picked one up for mine from Repco, was about 60 from memory, been a while. It was aftermarket and was steel with a bearing cage, the stock ones are plastic.

idler looks okay, hard to see tensioner??
hope its idler, tensioner pulley is non-replacable, you've gotta get a new tensioner. let me know how much they cost, i still need one

Just put new bearings in the pullys, will save you atleast half.

very nice effort that one. looks like it has skipped across and chewed itself out on the way, not helpful I know.

Mr Todd, when I get a freeway entrance ramp in my sights I unleash the hamsters with utmost joy.
In this case I could not only feel the engine go blat but could hear it too and when I checked the dash lights, the voltage gauge light was on and the voltage needle was going down so I figured out exactly what was wrong in no time. Anyhow I have a bike so getting around till I sort out the belt is no problem and it's cheaper on fuel than the stroker.

Both pulleys are available aftermarket, made by Powerbond, sold under there Nuline brand. Both pulleys made from steel, with new bearings fitted. I have used these on my I6, very well made parts. Not too dear, a good parts shop should be able to supply them for approx $30.00 each. The part numbers you need to ask for are EP017 (smooth pulley, you will need two of these) and EP018 (grooved pulley, 1 only reqd) Good luck.

So far, only the power steering pulley shaft has any float in it, but I think that's normal for that item.

I SPLIT MINE-drill and tap a m8-m10 hole down the middle to hold the new brg.,tensioner springs are ok,ask papa smurf for the price of a new one.

Here's the old one.. good for a laugh.
New belt is fitted now but the top idler pulley isn't 100% so I'll get a new steel one.
