Hey guys,
As you know, I'm running a 97 EL Fairmont Ghia 5.0. I have an opportunity to get an intake manifold from a 220kw AU3. My EL is stock except for the exhaust, which I changed to a 2.5inch (the existing was RS) from the cats back. It still has the factory headers etc. Will the AU3 intake manifold make any difference in this configuration or is it just wasting cash? (as opposed to the original HO manifold)? Thanks again dudes.. |

It will work okay and you'll get some additional grunt from the changeover but it will be a more seat of the pants feel if other items are not changed over as well.

good easy upgrade, fit extractors also and it will be a nice improvement

Diff gear change to 3.9 will 'feel' and 'go' quicker than extractors.

It's a worthwhile mod but you need to change the heads, exhaust manifold and if your in a really good mood the cam to really get the most out of it.

Completly agree sd1800, its like doing half the job for not much gain imho.

I'd do it regardless.
Its an improvement that will support other mods anyway.

Yep, sd1800 is right, but its still a worthwhil upgrade.
I'd fit the manifold and try get hold of a 65mm T/B and 70mm MAF housing from the same AU, and you'll notice a nice little gain.
