Where's a good cheap place in Melbourne to give my intake manifold an acid bath?

afaik all engine rebuild shops have acid baths
if you're only looking to do the exterior, the best stuff i've found is a brew called acti brite, its a seriously strong acid/surfactent blend used for cleaning air conditioning evaporators and condensors, and works wonders on aluminium parts just gotta remember to dilute it a bit, and wash it off after a couple of minutes

Pretty much any engine reconditioner will chuck it in the bath for you Vic, it used to cost me around $60 to tank a whole engine... probably a tad more now.

Hydrochloric acid does a very good job cleaning alloy. I've cleaned my manifolds many times using it. Brings them up looking like new again.
