just got one and was gonna fit it but it looks like there is some work involed in doin it. looks like the top half of the manifolds gotta come off to get to the fuel rail which has to come off to get to the 3 cap screw underniegth the fuel presure regulator. is there an easyer way?

Nope no easier way.
Top manifold must be removed but fuel rail CAN stay on. Its easier if you take the rail off but if you really dont want to you can stuff around abit more undoing the cap screws upside down. Make sure you release fuel rail pressure at the schrader valve or remove fuel pump relay and crank engine over for abit. Also make sure you get new cap screws to suit your new reg as 9 times out of 10 they are different thread to std. Do you have a fuel pressure guage to set it once the new reg is on? What brand reg did you get? Jeff

It isn't too bad with the fuel rail still on. I used an allen key to crack the bolt then used a hex bit once it was loose enough to do by hand.

Just the intake manifold gasket. My gauge is on the schrader valve, I got a fitting that screws straight onto it. It's an Autometer one, I think the part number is AU3280. Rocket stock it, I'd check with them. Failing which Pirtek or Enzed should be able to do something. Just remember to take the valve core out when you fit it.

Yep PC EB is onto it. Just the upper to lower manifold gasket needs replacing.
#3280 is the part number for the adaptor fitting, That takes it from 1/16th NPT (fuel rail) to 1/8th NPT (guage) male to female. Pirtek are no good as the smallest they do is 1/8th.

yeah i had a look at that valve. all it needs is a brass fitting with one male end to be 1/16'' they are easy to get. so when you release this valve does it release pressure in the lines or squirt out fuel?

Grab a tyre valve core removal tool, you'll need it to get the core out anyway. Screw the core out slowly, fuel will start dribbling out. Once the pressure is out just remove the core completely.

i just rang up 3 place about this gaskit abd this is my conclusion
1 was autobarn, they suply the gaskit but have to order it in and its about 17 dollars 2 supercheap ( was for a laugh) they are jus hopeless and dont even list an xh or 5.0l for that matter haha but i gave them the part number i got from autobarn and its about 26 bucks. fuks me how they work that out 3 wankers auto one- they tried to tell me i need the hole intake set. k this is what i said "i need a gaskit for a xh falcon woith a 5 liter its the upper to lower intake manifold gaskit" and he replied "we dont have one, you need the whole intake gaskit kit"then i quote the part number and he replies it doesnt show on his computer. in my opinion he didnt even type anything in and is in fact a wanker and is tryin to rip me off as per usual |
