Oops, triple post! That's what you get, trying to work with dicey reception over 100km offshore!

Who do think you're talking to Chad? Yanks? Once would have been enough

The guy I first spoke to was really helpful and the next couple of times I called their tech line, I asked for him and they put me through to him, so it wasn't like I was starting from scratch again each time I called. Well I had one of those live chat sessions with Summit, and within 2 minutes they said they will send out a heli coil kit. They didn't even ask why. No fuss, no drama. Was very pleased, every dealing I have with Summit just seems to get better. Could have something to do with me keeping sentences short and very simple I should have contacted them first, don't know why I contacted TFS. On a side note Chad, how similar would the tune on your EECV be compared to the EECIV? Would it be possible for me to "copy" the important parts into the corresponding fields in the 2DCA? I have been looking at the 2dda read only file, and man, there is a whole lot of stuff that makes my head spin. The 2DCA file was empty {USERNAME} wrote: Who do think you're talking to Chad? Yanks? Once would have been enough Must have thought so, although there are far too many words in those posts for yanks to read! |

When I initially tuned my car, I had no datalogging ability, so that tune wasn't ideal. It ran well and made good power, but if I were to do it again, I'd start from scratch.
When you get your gear, send me a PM and I'll go through it with you, the best I can. If you end up having trouble with it, you can send me the tune and I'll be able to have a look through it for you. On the Summit thing, I've also had nothing but good experiences with them, as well. They own Trick Flow, too.

All said and done would you buy this top end kit again? I'm thinking about it as an interim measure until I built a complete tall deck motor.

I'd buy the cam and heads etc, but i wouldnt buy the intake. It's a PITA to bolt down, fuel rails need modification or all new ones designed to fit and I've had sealing issues since I got it.
K cams in Christchurch (4hr drive from me) has just become a Ti Performance outlet so I've contacted them regarding tuning and will hopefully have it running sweet in time for summer! Finally. |

Good stuff man, about time someone in NZ started dealing with the TI gear! Does Kennelly Cams have an in-house dyno? Can't wait to finally see this thing running at it's best

What XFWAGON said.
Plus I think the Explorer is actually a better intake in the first place. |

Is the explorer better than the track heat when boosted??

Awesome. Keep us in the loop with how it turns out. Fwiw I think most of the 5.0 manifolds are junk. The box r looks good and has unreal top end but it's no good for the street, keep us updated anyways. Be interested to see the figures it does.

Look at the potential they have. Most intakes are near impossible to port. Runner lengths are long as. Just a pita. Even look at the flow restrictions in tubular gt40 manifolds.

Any long runner intake is a PITA to port so it's not just 5.0's with the problem. Besides no need to port just buy a different one to suit your application. Other engines don't have anything like the amount of intakes made for it.
