Hi all
Im just about to fit an aftermarket adjustable EFI regulator to my EBII era windsor. It is the external type that bolts to the inner guard and has the guage ect already built into it. Im just wondering on if I should fit it to the fuel line from the tank so the pressure is regulated before it hits the injectors or shoul it be fitted to the tank return line? What should I do to remove the factory regulator? Can I take it off and pull the guts out of it or do I have to make a plate or something to cover it all up? Thanks for any help. Matt

The factory reg adjusts the fuel return.
So I would do the same. With ref to the original reg, pulling the guts out could be an option. Ot making an adaptor for the rail. |

The purpose of the reg is to pressurise the fuel at the injectors etc so the reg has to be after the injectors, ie in the fuel return line.
The factory reg is a sealed unit so I doubt you could safely gut it. Probably easier to cut the tube before it and use flexiable fuel hose to your new reg. Honestly, unless you have done some MAJOR mods and are using larger injectors there is no need to replace the factory reg as it does the job and screwing with it could put your factory tune out. What brand reg do you have ? |
