Go to your local exhaust place and get them to weld you up one, should only cost $50 or so, then just paint it and grab some silicon/rubber ends (or just cut up your existing rubber hose) to connect it to the TB and MAF.

surely there must be ones that are prefabricated, that are corrrect length and all the right angles... i am a boilermaker, so i can weld the pipe up... but i wanted to know whether u could buy them prefabricated... although it is not a massive pipe in length, unlike the I6 is it??? (havent got the car too look at it yet!!):(

You can get them premade, Herrods, SVO, BPT all do them i believe but they charge 5x the cost of making one yourself. The V8's are easy, basically a 45 degree bend and probably a little straight setion. |

Everyone uses 3" pipe, wall thickness doesnt really matter as it is only for air intake, I used 1.25mm wall thickness 3" stainless piping on mine.

Herrods no longer sell them. a mate from tassie contacted them a week or 2 ago.
Just get the pipe and make it yourself... would probably look better too.

seeing how it is only a small pipe, would here be any advantage (except for looks) of getting this.
sure the air will flow more freely and faster, but wont the air in the stainless pipe create more heat in the air compared to the rubber hose?? thus defeating the purpose??

Yeah a metal pipe will obviously hold more heat but the air is passing through it quickly and shouldn't pick up all that much extra heat. As for benefits, some claim up to 5kw, I would be doubtfull about that on a stock engine but it won't hurt either IMO.
