Exactly !! Even the std H.O cam driven hard can push the limit on springs designed for flat tappet cam... From memory spring tension should be 125 seat and 350 over the nose....

You must make sure what your goal is with your car then decide what heads to go. I have AFR 185cc and i know off 2 347 with them making 550hp which 1 of them is built by solo hurcules engine's. Talk to Jim at high performance world as he is really switched on what heads to use for your application. He recommend Ned from solo hurcules engines to use the AFR 185cc and ned was very suprised on how they performed.

With the 185's you will have to get a set of knotched slugs (thats if you are doing a rebuild as well) or a budget way of doing it (on your existing engine without a rebuild) is get your original slugs fly cut.
I believe the 165's or Trickflows will go on without having to do this.

i got some Edelbrock performer 5.0 (60399) from vpw for $2k, They d**k me arounf for a while, but I got them in the end.

Thanx for all the comments there few there to look into, what i have at moment is a EF 5Ltr and doing a rebuild on it, gonna put stroker kit, head work and wil need a different manifold and so on, I just looking into what can be done and get some decent power out of it and trying 2 work out how much will need to do so

What about Dart alloy heads? I've seen a few tough windsors with those popping up every now and then.
