Why would they go into all the effort and put forged pistons and use E7 heads...
I reckon a nitrous kit maybe lurking in there somewhere.

i have a book "5.0 ford dyno tests" in which the guy runs through how much power you gain by doing whatever. They did a decent port job on the stock E7's and gained around 35-40 horses at the heels in a 1993 mustang. I think the main point people try to make is the cost of porting standard heads may be just as great as a set of alloys, which i guess flow more and give you a greater gain anyhow....

Its like that at times, justifying the cost of doing work to get required results, verus buying something thats as good or better straight up, with out all the work.

the one i red about had no port work done no nos and it had photos of the engine bay and i didnt see any out of the ordinary thing apart from the underdrive pulleys that they didnt mention, but im guessing they must be very light, another thing i noticed was that they had every tall rear tyres

Foxbodies weigh less than our sedans and that makes a huge difference in 1/4 times for what seems a mild 302 powered Mustang.

Put some good alloys and decent induction on 5.0 and it wwould be quicker....
Mustangs are light....

Just a quick quiz........Are G'techs accurate, when doing 1/4 mile runs????
A mate has one, and tried it out in his XF ute, that I built a 351C for, nothing flash, 030" flat tops, 2V heads, Redline Torker intake, Crane cam ( approx 30/70) & springs, 600 Holley, ( a 750 is going on shortly, just used what we had at the time ), unknown brand of headers, twin 3" exhaust dumping just before the diff ( no balance pipe), C4 auto, 2,800 rpm stall, 2.92LSD.......did 14.7 with heaps of wheel spin. Any clues???
