let me guess hardley any pressure on the gas where as put the foot down harder=smoother shifts.
How kms on the car? & if the box has being thrashed you will get hard long shifts.

I have a AU2 XR8 Ute this thing also has the same drama with hard down change I took it too Jarvis Ford to get it rectified 3 times none of their technicians could find a fault Trans service and flush helped a little but not enough.
Any ideas how much to get the solenoid fixed |

I remember reading a long long time ago on FordForums about this issue. However, these posts are long gone now.
I remember reading about a design fault in the AU XR8 boxes, and the rectification was a different type of valve body. |
