I bought a 220kw AU V8 with ceramic headers from an Au2 to fit in my NC Fairlane. I'm trying to find out whether they will fit, or not. I have a mechanic doing the swap for me.
There are posts in this forum that say the au headers don't fit in the nc/eb. If this is the case, Can the AU headers be modified easily? what headers are compatible and what are their respective brands & prices? I have looked at Hurricane Headers [HU354STM] $500 I'm splashing for a new 2 1/2" Exhaust system, the shop changing the engine will need extractors that fit the Gt40p heads and clear the steering, plug leads & sockets in the Fairlane for ease of maintenance. {DESCRIPTION} Without spending a mint, what would be an affordable, performance exhaust design that is not obnoxiousLY loud? Is a twin design available? I really don't want to spend more than $1500 to have it fitted complete no cats required in the build. {DESCRIPTION} Appreciate your wisdom and burnt fingers! I don't want to just roll into an exhaust shop and get burnt because I haven't done any homework. Appreciate your responses. Cheers

AU2 headers wont fit, and because theyre ceramic coated theyre not worth the modification.
I used EL GT Headers with a 200kw engine - worked ok. The Passenger side header actually looks similar to the AU one. I believe the hurricane AU header fits the EF/EL, but they will be able to confirm. You might need to just use the 266stm's. |
