You'll need to google High Energy or ASR Oil Pans. High Energy have been a bit hit and miss, have hear lots of good about ASR...

More likey to be rods hitting the main girdle/windage tray only clearanced for a 3" stroke or they didn't grind enough clearance at the bottoms of the bores for the rods or even around the oil pump mounting boss. There should be plenty of room in the stock sump even for H-beams.

I'd be inclined to open the sump up myself to check for damage on whatever was fouling. You don't want a compromised rod and/or bent girdle in your motor.

How does a 351W sump fit a 302/5.0?

Yep, we all agree that a 351W sump doesn't fit a 302W/5.0.

But a stock 5.0 sump is OK on a 347, so what's the knocking/tapping? Something's not clearanced correctly and is currently "machining itself to fit"

I'd be inclined to simply reject the 347 engine on the grounds that it hasn't been assembled with expert care and attention, and you no longer have any faith in their abilities so you just want to be paid out. Have them remove the engine and then collect your car. Then drag them through court. Don't forget to add on plenty of "Consequential Liability" items - milage, lost wages, your time, alternative transport costs, inconvenience, stress etc. This can easily double the claim value. Once they see the papers they may even settle directly for a slightly lesser amount.

If you continue to work with them, you will regret it. They have been happy to crap on you twice, what's another one or two dumps???

I completely agree with the above post.

One thing, though. I'm pretty sure a lot of AU drivers have clearance issues with the sump. I've read a number of threads where this has been the case. Apparently some massaging had to be done on the sumps to fit the T3s.
