not all A series V8's have the GT40P heads. Only some V8's. [/quote] This is interesting because I've never seen an AU that doesn't have 40p's....and I've seen alot. |

I've never seen an AU with E7 heads but it doesn't mean there isn't any. I suspect it'll be some '99 AU's that did as they were just using up remaining stock but, the vast majority will have 40p's. This is quite simply because, the Falcon used an Explorer engine which was never available with E7 heads.

Cheers & yes knowledge is infinite but i am merely a mortal human being. Please forgive.

ALL AU's had GT40p's.
Mine is a September 1998 build 175kw, so its a real early bird and it has GT40ps

now correct me if im wrong but a stroker motor has longer rods and under boost longer rods means the rods have to be stronger to withstand the boost and i know for a fact there are some very crappy cheap stroker kits out there eg: Procomp. so you would want a good quality stroker kit or a forged kit (depends how much boost your running)
but i would think some head and cam work and a engine balance and the supercharger will work trumps

No, to achieve the same piston/deck clearance at TDC a stroker will need different rods depending on the combo.
If you have 3" stroke, 6" rod and 0.5" compression height your piston will sit at 0 deck at TDC on a 8" block. (Remember only half the stroke is upwards of crank centreline) You will need a 5.75" rod with a 3.5" stroke to sit at the same height at TDC. These figures were used as an example only and aren't indicative of any actual stroker.

Depends on how the stroker was built. Some don't have longer rods than stock but rod length itself doesn't mean they have to be stronger...quite simply any rod needs to be stronger if the load is greater. and please don't mention that name again

T1 and some T2 TS50's got Y303 Alloy heads from factory.

It was an example.
For instance you can get a 393w stroker kit that uses stock 5.965" rods or 6" rods or 6.125" rods and anything else can be done too as long as you get your piston compression height to match. You have a trade off between a short rod with high compression height piston which has a less desirable rod angle or a log rod with a short compression height piston which has more desirable rod angle but potentially less stable piston and/or ring seal/durability issues. |

Yeah, you can go a longer rod, but will all depend on how far you are stroking it, intended use of the motor, quality of parts used etc. What will suit your build will vary from others.

You'll find most stroker kits for the 302/5.0L Windsor do use a linger rod with the aim to improve the crank/rod ratio, and try to reduce side loadings on the cylinder wall... Also often you need a linger rod to clear the crank counterweights with the longer crank throw.
