Hey All,

Can someone point me in the direction of aftermarket fuel rails for my AU ford. I read somewhere that a guy used 95 mustang rails though need mod. I went to Ford spares though they wanted $1,200, which I though was a bit bloody rude.

Reason why I'm chasing the fuel rails, engine is having surging problems down low... It will run ok for a while, than choke up down low... Till I get a chase to put my foot down to 4/5000 rpm and it seems to push it through until next time. ( not a good look in bumper traffic) so I'm just going through and replacing relay, filter, but than if I need to do the regulator I though I may as well replace the rails as well.

Anyways - I've made my decision and I'm putting a Haltech Interceptor chip on the car this Friday + tune... Mainly because it's what the guy does here on the coast and everything else just seemed a hassle... And hopefully by Xmas I will have the funds and time to rebuild my bottom end. (347 street fighter)

Cant see the fuel rails being the cause of your problem.

But anyway, i use Aeromotives on mine, only issue is tight to dizzy, which u wont have a drama with. They do the same rails for Trickflow in black too.
Have just fitted a set of Vortech rails to an ED Sprint and they were a nice rail to use. -6 on all ends which eliminated the dizzy clearance issues compared to the -8's on the Aeromotive.

Thanks for that!

Did you buy Aeromotives here @ VPW ? or possibly Summit?

Re - my problem, possibly not fuel rails, though today i was going to replace the fuel regulator for $145... so i was just thinking, if im going to remove the top manifold once again - maybe worthwhile replacing both rails and regulator if price is right.

Yeah thats right, changing to aftermarket rails means the use of an External reg aswell. They are abit pricey, those regs, but hey when it comes to performance parts, what isnt..?

I got mine many years ago from a local speed shop over here. But since have been getting them for numerous cars from Summit.
May aswell get the Trickflow ones and matching reg to go with the rest of ya trickflow gear. Then i'd just get all the fittings and hose locally and plumb it up yourself.

What fuel pump are you running?
Have you got a fuel pressure gauge plumbed in..?

Yes - trickflow came up along with Aeromotives as suitable fuel rails... US$560 for the Trickflow, but F**k - the money is going out quicker than its coming in.

Still running stock fuel pump. Unable to get at it at the moment as i need to remove the stylis back... and no fuel pressure gauge plumbed in.

Any 101 fuel advice would be welcome.

PS - Your XR8 set up rocks!!! - you must love that KB.

Thats all you need, then just get the fittings and hose locally. Can just use push-lok fittings with black rubber Fuel Injection hoe in 3/8". Cut back your factory steel lines, flare them then use the rubber hose from them to the rails and reg.

I'd definately look at upgrading the pump to at least a Walbro intank 255lph.

Thanks for all that- it's defiantly the way forward.... Just need to watch the bank balance as it's going down faster than my fuel gauge.

Also - checked out your utube burnout video ... Your off your head bro!!

I googled your car specs and found a street ford build site. Utube link was on there. Like I said, insain... I thought your wheels where going to pop.

Different note - I got a quote from Bursons today for those fuel rail and Rocket wanted $556... yhan Burson still needed to add on their $$$. Crazy hey... Summit cost $180.

Also - changed the fuel filter today plus relay, cleaned the MAF and reset the computer... And drove it like I stole it. These some great roads around here and I had a hoot of a time, thought I had fixed the problem. No backfire or coughing... That's until I was 10 min from home going through a school zone and it started choking up.... Man - my car just hates giing slow.

Anyways -the Haltech interceptor chip arrived today so hopefully I can get it installed and dyno over the weekend.

Regarding you KB ... How much did that cost installed??? I was looking at them in the States for $2100 but than the guys out here wanted over $8,000.

Not sure where you saw KB kits for $2100US, but they would have been 2nd hand.
The kits are $3699US on the KB website. The only way to purchase them in Australia is through Bluepower Racing Developments. They are currently doing the kit for under $6000AUD to your door. Contact either Paul (Agro) or Theo there for more info.

I have the TFS rails, they were $185 from Summit. I also got the Aeromotive fpr (TFS/Aero same thing but one's red other is black)

You can get Russell hard line fittings like I did which slip on your hard fuel lines and go to -6 or -8an. Saves a lot of hassle compared to flaring etc.

PN: Russell 644110

TFS do cheap fittings and they are a simple design also which makes it easy. No ferules etc.

To save on hose, I'll show you how I have mocked mine up.
