What, buy an E-series 5.0 and then slot an AU XR8 motor into it?

AUs run smartshield so the E-series ECU won't be able to run it. You're better off taking all the goodies off the AU motor and whacking it on an E-series motor, with dizzy and all.

I reckon that'd be your best bet. Whack a set of AU heads and gt40 intake manifold on and go from there.... probably end up being more cost effective...

For EB/ED the clusters are different between the i6 and the v8. EF/EL share the same cluster.

i think ive decided to just work the i6
put a couple thousand into it and get it round the 200-220kw mark
that should be enuf for me

then my next car when i get my GT-P ill have an 8
but this engine has done REALLY well for me so i think ill give him a little helping hand to get some more
just A LOT easier
ive got a nice exhaust wit good extractors on there at the moment
so im just gonna do sum engine mods
then get a proper 8 next time round

Glad to see that i'm not the only one in this converting predicament. Just quietly.. i think you've probably made the right decision modding the 6 as they tend to respond very well to a few mods and a turbo or two. Shame it'll still sound like rubbish compared to the windsor...

oh nah
im really happy with the note my 6 puts out
ive got "hi-tech" extractors on there with a redback sports exhaust and i like the sound
i took the car for a drive on the weekend
the first time in the past month or 2 and cant wait 2 finish it
coz its sitting in my garage at home now with only 2 front seats and a dashboard as an interior

all depends on how i feel whether i do any engine work

coz im also looking at getting a brand new GT-P that ill keep as long as possible

so i might only do some visual work with my car

How do you plan to acheive 220KW on a 4L for a few thousand?
