Just wondering on peoples opinions.

Are the factory extractors off tickford V8s good? Im guessing they arent as restrictive as the factore headers off earlier models, but it worth the 600 odd to buy a aftermarket set? Or is performance pretty much the same anyway?

They're pretty good. I wouldn't bother changing them unless it was an all out effort.

The headers off the 200 & 220s definitely are pretty decent, if you cut the lower section off where the 4 primary pipes meet and get a 2.5" section welded on, coupled with a pair of hi-flow cats they'll be on par with most of the Tri-Y headers available.

Cool, I can pick up a second hand set off a 200kw ute, so ill save myself 4-600 and use them. I noticed they were a bit 4-1 designed, but the 2.5 pipe idea sounds pretty good. Any photos of a set that have been modded like that?

Hopefully this works, this is a set of modified 220 headers compared with the stock Fairmont pipes. :)

How much difference do high flow cats fame to the 220kw headers?
Are they necessary on a near stock motor with a cat back exhaust?
