In 2000 the XR8 was boosted to 200Kw and in 2001 through Au111 release Xr8 was boosted to 220Kw with T series units and pursuits getting the stroked Widsor with 250Kw. All figures are Flywheel figures.
In general The Au came in 2 versions (175 and 185Kw) Hope this helps |

Hey! I have an AU2 (XR8) that is 220KW, at least thats what the badging says. Does any one know if it was rare for them to come out with leather trim (as mine is... and its a 5speed) and signatures on the motor... cant say if I got the Momo gears though as everything is in black leather.

it's very special or you wouldn't drive it. 220kw were tickford enhanced thats why it has a name on it and the leather could be optioned by the buyer as with the 5 speed. Crate motors were enhanced by hand by tickford technicians. The 250kw version was a completely hand built from scratch engine using after market internals sourced in Australia and were all blue printed and balaced products.

Thanks paulhowes, not much info on AU's over here in NZ. So if I was to change all the internals to the 250Kw versions + add a few of the extra goodies mine missed out on, would I then net myself 250Kw as well?... or is it not that simple.

These are the engine specs for the stroked 250kw version for you. In theory you could build a similar donk. The extractors were factory std enamel coated inch and three quarter primary jobs. With just a full on unrestricted exhaust and cold air induction mine turns 224kw at the wheels. i hope this encourages you. Dont forget you will need either a T3 ECU or an aftermarket job. Enjoy the specs. Engine AUIII TE50/TS50: Re-engineered Windsor V8, 5.6-litre/347 cu in, Tickford crankshaft, roller rockers, double valve springs, worked cast-iron heads, 9.6:1 compression ratio, blueprinted block, 82 mm throttle body, multi-point injection, tuned 8 trumpet inlet manifold, shotpeened billet conrods, floating gudgeon lightweight pistons, performance camshaft, block girdle, extractors. 250kW@5250rpm, 500Nm@4250rpm |

Sweetas I'll get some up soon. Having some issues trying to upload but should have it sorted, been dying to get some on here. Everything is still factory but its awesome how clean and flowing the design lines are on the AU models (well any FORD really).
