The recomended viscosity is anything in the range of 10W-30 to 20W-40. Brand and composition comes down to individual choice, although synthetics are generally more prone to leakage between gasket surfaces

What mineral oil do people on here recommend? I know im opening a can of worms here but just looking for a general consensus. I have heard some people on here highly recommend penrite, but others say they would rather pi$$ is thier sumps than use Penrite.
I'm currently using Semi-Synth Penrite but it does make some noise on startup. Open to other options.

KMX(Kmart) 20W50 works well in the EB XR8 and only $19 for six litres. Drained it this afternoon and came out like honey and a new Z9 filter. The AU I think you could stick to the 15W40 no problems. EDIT***the KMX is a SG/CD and is good for all E series according to the users manuals. It is also compatible with LPG systems. Even during the minus 6 degsdown here there is no tappet noise at all and warms up quickly with consistent 60 percent pressure***
Don't be sucked in with all the hype on the $50++ mineral oils as the cheaper ones will out-perform them in most cases. Good Luck |
