What spark plugs and lead combo's are you guy's using.
Ive got MSD leads, coils and bosch platinum spark plugs, and under load i can hear a ticking, now these plugs are gapped at 1.0m and usually we'd run 1.3-1.4? Now is that the problem in it's self or i got the OM reader out and the resistance on 2 leads is out slightly. I dont really want iridum plugs as i want to put her on the dyno and tune the 90mm MAF next mth. And last tune the NGK iridium's were stuffed after 3 runs! Now the tick is definatly an ignition issue and not valve float or roller rockers. Anyone got any ideas? |

If they were stuffed it's probably running lean.

Im running The bougicord with heat sheilds of ebay had the topguns from the store but u'll find they slip back and touch the ectractors and walla there stuffed.
Im also using the iridiums by ngk and word of advice the lil s**t bend and break the insulators something chronic. if ur running 4 into ones this will happen most on cyl number five as theres like 3mm inbetween the plug end and pipe. Im running accel coils as they have higher output then msd's and are consistant where people have been complaining msd's arent. hope my experience might help. perhaps ur plugs where fractured after those three runs? Dont forget Injectors can tick and aswell the charcol cannister purge solenoid is a NOISEY ticking thing. u can find the purge solenoid front passenger side below headlight in those where abouts. |

Make sure you run a double platinum plug not a single platinum plug. Otherwise you will get erosion of the ground electrode on one bank (can't remember which side)
Personally I use an Iridium NGK TR55IX
