I dunno, still not sure on this, a soarer is about half the price of the xr8 lol.

EDIT

I would run a bigger cam than the TFS1 if I was running stock GT40P's and looking for consistant mid 13's. Your pretty well spot on though IMO...

Soarers are nice cars, but if you are more than 5ft tall....forget about it. They where made for little people :P

A V8 Soarer with an Eaton M90 or M112 blower would be kick a*** IMO. Would certainly help it get off the line a bit smarter....they are dogs before 40km/h or thereabouts in 1st gear.

TT soarer with simple mods will see 300rwhp a hell of a lot cheaper than getting the AU V8, or the 4L Soarer to the same power.

Yeah, I've driven a few, but mostly my mum's V8.

I cant find a comfortable driving position without my head touching the roof. Apart from that, they are a pretty nice car...and a bargain for the money IMO.

does hers have a sunroof? lowers the roofline a bit.
yeah, that's it, i could borrow 10k and buy an xr8, or own a soarer outright...

Yeah, it does. I suppose that would drop the roof a bit. Sunroof is great in summer though.

I would go the TT over the V8 as well.

A TT with the "Limited" leather interior, and the UZZ32 "Active" suspension would be tops. A higher stall converter to get it off the line, and a decent dump pipe/exhaust setup, decent cooler and a bit more boost...sweet :)

AFAIK the Limited was exclusive to the V8, and the main problem with the limiteds was the electronic console often f**k up and noone over here can fix it...
Basically i'm looking at a blitz nur spec cat back (abotu $1500 cat back only) removing the cat, not sure on dump pipe, front mount a boost controller and a retune. Plus maybe an Apexi power intake to make the turbo spool sound better lol.
After that will be a set of 19s and a vertex kit and some streetable coilovers. Should be a nice enough car with plenty of balls, and still a good daily with the auto. A good, sideways, daily. :p.

True, you couldn't option the Limited with the TT. You would have to convert the interior yourself from a wreck. The leather trim is nice :).

Not all Limited's had the full electric console, I think it only came with the rear camera option.

My mums has just the std CD/Cassette/AC Controls, no reversing camera.

There is a company that does conversions for the full LCD screen version. I think I saw their details on PlantSoarer.com(?)

They are a little too "cruisy" for me though. I find it a hard car to get agressive and hoon around in...its just too quiet, and comfortable :)

There is a guy in Perth with a TT 1UZFE in an HQ (I think) Monaro.

Goes hard.
