You have a sticky governor... - very common on "C" series transmissions - especially after a rebuild!
When a transmission burns out, The clutch material etc lies on the bottom of the cooler in the radiator & if it is not flushed out before the new trans goes in, The new oil washes all the metal out into the rear cooler line back into the box (which enters the case via the governor) - instant sticky governor! It is not a big job to fix it. The extension housing has to come off, Disassemble the governor & polish the valves with very fine wet & dry. If you have an old trans that sticks the governor, It usually means it is making metal - Transmission rebuild time..... |
