Hi everyone. HELP!!!!
I have a 2002 Ba fairmont 3valve v8 with a strange engine noise. I bought it with 84000 k's with the noise only just noticable. It also had a ticking noise warranty so under warranty i had the phasers, chain tensioners and guides replaced in the hope that it would fix both noises but it only fixed the tick. Hard to explain but the noise i'm getting is coming from the front of the engine and sounds like worn bearings in an alternator but i took the belt off and the noise was still there and the noise only comes in only when the engine is warm under slight load, not at idle. I've taken it to 3 Ford joints, 2 said "i dunno" and 1 said it could be a stretched timing chain that is slapping around. Has anybody had or heard this type of noise. Cheers, Glen |
