hi just brought a ba xr8 manual and was just wondering should there be a slight delay when i put my foot down after granbing a gear because of the fly by wire thanks

Check the Motor that opens the Throttle because there Drive By Wire

No unless you're trying to flat change it, in which case it will limit rpm.
I should clarify; the strategy is such that the PCM will not allow you to rev the engine hard with your foot on the clutch. This is to stop you from dropping the clutch and breaking something in the driveline. My GT has no such throttle hesitation unless of course the traction control is on(is your's on when it does this?) it may hesitate. If I time it right I can have wheelspin right the way through 2nd gear.

The BA's do "Torque Delivery".. they are programed to provide an amount of energy from the engine - not an amount of fuel into the engine.

This would be responsible for the slight delay at going to max throttle.
