I have got a BA XR8 Boss 260, it has got a 2-1/2" sports exhaust and also SS CAI fitted. What is the best type of fuel eg. 91, 95, 98 to run in it to get the best economy and power

Have you got a tune on it??
I'd be running 95 minimum, 98 is good, a generic 98 tune would make a bit of difference though.

The 260 only needs to be 95, and it'll run on 91 ok.
The 290/302/315 needs 95 at a minimum. Pinging and severe performance throttling will occur on 91.

My dad runs BP Ultimate in his XR8 08 BA MK2 six speed manual, mods are cat back exhaust and k&n air filter,we found it ran better on the Ultimate,Shell V power lacked performance and Vortex lacked the fuel economy,i'd go the BP fuel, costs a bit more, but will give good fuel economy and performance in my opinion.

best fuel will be 98, take your pic of either BP or caltex.
personally i wouldnt be a cheap skate on fuel if you have decided to buy a v8, so i'd keep that in mind. in saying that, if you end up having no 98 available, my BF has run perfectly on 95 when required.
