I have got a BA XR8 Boss 260, it has got a 2-1/2" sports exhaust and also SS CAI fitted. What is the best type of fuel eg. 91, 95, 98 to run in it to get the best economy and power :?:

Have you got a tune on it??

I'd be running 95 minimum, 98 is good, a generic 98 tune would make a bit of difference though.

The 260 only needs to be 95, and it'll run on 91 ok.

The 290/302/315 needs 95 at a minimum. Pinging and severe performance throttling will occur on 91.

My dad runs BP Ultimate in his XR8 08 BA MK2 six speed manual, mods are cat back exhaust and k&n air filter,we found it ran better on the Ultimate,Shell V power lacked performance and Vortex lacked the fuel economy,i'd go the BP fuel, costs a bit more, but will give good fuel economy and performance in my opinion.

best fuel will be 98, take your pic of either BP or caltex.

personally i wouldnt be a cheap skate on fuel if you have decided to buy a v8, so i'd keep that in mind.

in saying that, if you end up having no 98 available, my BF has run perfectly on 95 when required.
