hey guys , i picked up a 77 ford f100 a few months ago . she has a little 302 Windsor with a pair of extractors a 650 cfm carb and from what im told a mild cam. it goes okay but im after real tire killing power . what would be the best way to achive this with out pulling the motor out and on a budget ? an apprentices budget haha

That will be tough for a little 302 in an F truck!
Better heads, good intake manifold, bigger cam... Hi-stall for the auto and maybe some lower diff gears. But it would all be for nothing if the existing engine isn't in good condition. I personally would look at more capacity, put a 351W in there.

your right , i may start looking into buying a 351 clevo or windsor and building it on a stand with everything i want . ill just clean the 302 up and perhaps drop her into a escort or a cortina for a skid car sometime down the track.
stroking a 351 to 408 sounds like a fun idea , the vision i have is to just hit the first right hander at barbagallo power cruise and smoke the f**k out of it aha. im a long way off as i have started a full re-wire today but you have to have a goal and something to work for. could someone possibly recommend a good place online for parts ? i use summit heaps but there may be some others out there . |

I for one would look really hard at one of fordstrokers DIY 408 kits. All machining done & all you have to do it is bolt it together. Even including shipping & duties it is cheaper than building one here.
