What size's are you capable of getting to by just using oversized pistons? Will the 302 be able to get to 310-312 with out stroking?

No. Use equation CID = Number of cylinders x 0.7854 x bore x bore x stroke
So, 302 W will go MAX .060 8x.7854x4.060x4.060x3=310.70ci You would never punch a 302 to 060 though, but that would be the MAX size achieveable, without stroking. |

So the best you could do is match the 308 then. So i could be stroking it after all.

A 347 stroker would be the way to go. You would make a lot more torque out of it too.

Or 320CI if you used a aftermarket block with 4.125 bores

Or sleave every cylinder and bore it, which will cost about the same as a stroker kit LOL.
It's not like the old HP or 186S where you could bore them to 192.... But not listing your age, you probably wouldn't remember those days. |

Sad Paul sad, I remember the days of boring out a 1600 Kent to 1700+CC not a red coloured boat anchor, which works out a bigger increase considering it is only a 4 cylinder (I am sure there is a bigger increase out there)

Ive heard ppl doing 306ci using standard crank but different rods and pistons.
Such a little stroking wont do much at all and if you gona buy rods and pistons you might as well go all out 347. You can buy my 347 block $4000.00 or complete engine $8000.00 if your serious come down and ill take you for a rap and offer me what you think it's worth.

Didnt really want to stroke it at all.
Was more looking at rebuilding it as a true 5 litre then got curious on how big it could go. MICKYYYY i wont be looking at parts or motors till april, may 08. If its still around by then i could be keen. |

Spend the Time and $$$ on good induction etc..
There's much more power in a std 5.0... They are an oversquare engine anyway...[4" bore X 3" stroke] Without adding better induction ? It would a wast of time...

A 306 is a .030" over 302.
Get a 351 and stroke that to 392+ cubes. |

Yeh a nice 392 is awsome but i personally dont want more than 500hp engine im my cars and thats getting abit much on the street. Something between 450-500 is sweet.
Good induction is good set of heads eg AFR 165cc for standard 5.0L with a trickflow or edelbrock intake injectors tb exhaust and tune will definatly get the car going, and then the bug bites and you go 347 or bigger hahaha. It's a never needing story with power. You just ant more and more. Some days i get in mine and it feels like a weapon and too much for me then some days i hang for more and leave nice tidy marks for 80meters up the street and thats with a 400hp engine

AFR 165cc heads are already on the list, they should have been on the car now but the money had to go else were.
Going to stick with the cobra manifold untill it cant flow no more (upper cut open and ported) then was thinking a holley intake set up. Exhaust is already done 24 lb injectors big enough for 347? The 75mm TB might be the right size for a 347 hey XR9UTE Which stoker kits are now made in china? |

The TFS kit or AFR heads and Edelbrock ll inlet... The Holley inlet is GOOD too but its not able to be fitted the way we do down under, it cannot be turned around... And decent sized, calibrated maf, 24 or 30 Lb injectors....
