Yeah, Interesting because I've seen those Darton sleeves used in Modular blocks but they reckon it weakens the block too much because you basically machine all the cylinders away to fit them. A block specifically designed to use them makes all the difference obviously.

Big lightweight cubes, best of both worlds, I would hate to see the bill for a block like this though. Got a price indication? Considering its the best part of 180kg of aluminium is the starting block size and just over 2/3 of that is removed. Does the customer get to take the off cut to scrap? of is the answer simply, if you need to ask the price, its out of your price range.

Well dc, the lump of ally we machined the Range rover adapter plate out of was $300 bucks and it was 60mm x 300mm x 300mm and that was readily available and not custom forged.
Hows their s**t about making a special end mill when they just ground the shank of the one they already had!? |
