Silly question... wouldn't it have been alot easier to source an AU3 220kw engine and modify that? At least that way you get the alloy GT40s and the decent manifolds. Whats the crate engine setting you back if you don't mind me asking?

i thnk its the MAF situation..ive got the factory electronics on a larger pipe, but theres no sample tube.....im gonna invest in a C&L unit for my new engine

Better still, get a big Ford MAF or a Professional Mass Air Systems MAF.

Do the aftermarket MAFs work bolted straight on or do you need tweecer?
I was told by BPT that I needed a tweecer. Before I thought Pro-Ms and such just plugged in all you needed was that it was calibrated to your injector flow.

Can you still get Pro-Ms new or since the company collapsed they are impossible to get. The flanged chrome ones look awesome.

Most aftermarket MAF's are designed to be used without reprogramming of the MAF transfer function within the EEC. The MAF manufacturer must know what injectors and MAF the vehicle originally had to have any hope of a correct "Calibration". It is important to have an adjustable fuel reg IF you don't have any means of electronically adjusting the fuel delivery.
BPT will be able to help or you can go to PMAS directly.
Yes an AU 70mm Maf is a good choice for a mild 5.0.
There are also 80 and 90mm Ford Mafs available.

You can get only the ones supplied on Aussie delivered cars. But you'd get torn a new a**hole for them so go to BPT for a better deal.

3000 grand is alot of goodies that you could throw in a good 69 302 block.
get rid of your e7s mate, 2040 cam is a waste if you dont. GT40P heads are cheap power.
