Yes but we now know why it happened and how to work around it. Happy days Please elaborate mr xcabbi ? ? I worked there and am still un aware? In the early days (I am talking BA MK1 here) there were reported claims that Ford were flashing lower spec tunes into the ECU's during services, most probably done to preserve drivelines (cause their diffs wouldn't even last 100,000kms when babied). Since this was early BA, flash tuners were not yet on sale (only the cappa boost box was in development at the time) and people just sat their wondering where their power went. I say "happy days" now because flash tuners are so comprehensive that most mechanics can change any paramater at will, whether it is immobilisation and security, engine tuning, or even auto box shift patterns. |
