is that man trying to tell me that a 5ltr windsor from something like an eb is going to beat a manual boss ? don't thinks so.The auto's in the xr's are very poor and make them feel realy slug like but turn that to a manual and you can't compare.

The ZF (and/or diff ratio change) rocks.

Diven a zf xr8, its no fireball. Just stating the obvious whether you like it or not. Got no time for idiots that push their own fascist agenda and screw everyone else!!!!!!! Don't make me prove a point because I'm just sick of it!!!!

Just rename yourself OneEyeWindsor. You cannot help yourself when it comes to discussion about different Ford V8s.

Funny thing is even the little 5L is a car length quicker all the way to 120kmh. By the time the BOSS gets its finger out of its a*** its all over.

Long live the windsor!!!!! The only Ford V8 that will ever set foot on my drive might be the HURRICANE in 2010.

That's interesting because no 5.0 has ever been able to keep up with my GT including modified ones in any gear. But that's besides the point. The point is low end torque and a 5.0 does it have it over the DOHC engine, NOT the 3V engine. The weight of the BA does make things more difficult but if you use the right gear it's all over for the 5.0.
Now the DOHC heads on a 5.0 bottom end...that would be something and in fact the Ford racing 5.0 crate modular is an example of that.

Which trans does you GT have XR9UTE? My harsh criticism mainly stems from the size of these new donks and their centre of gravity. Can't stand motors that barely squeeze into engine bays especialy when its time for repairs!!! At least they don't use oil like an LS1.

6 spd manual. I agree the size is ridiculous although the bore spacing means the weight can be set somewhat but then the damn heads get in the way of setting it back!?

everyone has a bias towards there vehicle ....if you forget all the dyno bulls#$t etc ...ive been to a few club drag meets over here and if your comparing lightly modded vehicles ive never seen a 5.4 modular beat a t-series 5.6

the dissappointing fact is its 6 years approx since they stopped making the t-series ...the 5.4 is a stop gap measure.... the ba-bf is a beutiful car but the motor is holding it back

it needs to be dumped in the new model ...or ford will never get to be number 1

just my opinion

I'm running a 5.0 flat these days.

And it's still unopened.

can't compare modded cars, far to many variables. can only compare stock vs stock (even then there's factory variances).

By now I'd have my head chewed off on Ford forums. Fordmods is a great forum in that they don't mind a bit of biff. At the end of the day its a blue oval V8 and that is all that really matters.

Then again i've always yearned for a cast iron blocked LS1 or LS2, despite the poxy exhaust note.
