what are the advantages of kevlar pads over normal pads and would that be suitable for my ebxr8?
will they last as long or better? and will they withhold and day on the racetrack? |

it depends more on the individual pad brand you're looking at rather than just kevlar or non kevlar.
which ones were you interested in getting? personally, i'd stick with bendix ultimates. major dusting issues but they're a good reliable pad that can take a hell of a pounding and still last well |

i had the EBC green stuff pads and slotted rotors on my el fairmont they lasted for bout 2.5 years and the rotors are still going but i sold it now they rated to 650c and are really clean bugger all dust bit pricey $150 per corner i think but worth it i reckon i used to flog it down hills and slam the brakes on took bout 4 or 5 of those to induce temp fade

Having fitted 4 pot AP callipers and bigger rottors I have to say the std items are hopeless to the power levels of todays engines and body weight..They are the same size as they where in the XA days....

for what there worth ,not much to pay for off the shelf items eg bendix ultimate std vented rotors you could replace with new one s all the time ,dont bother machine your rotors ,new pads new rotors . simple what $100 pair rotors $40 pair pads cheap, my be more if ABS is fitted which helps with stopping if it is working .after all they make you stop c why skimp here when u spend big$$$$ on other mods
cheers mark

that's it, pads and rotors are cheaper than the front end of your car and the a*** end of someone elses. either your brakes are gonna stop you or the back of someone's car is.
