Went to move my Mum's XD ute and tried to disengage the park brake then....SNAP!!....The handle breaks off in my hand, leaving the park brake body still in the slot with the detent spring still intact(lucky as I could still disengage the brake...).

Looks like it is a trip to the wrecker to get a S/H one but...are the XD hand brakes the same as the XF through EB?

Thanks

Not 100% sure, but they look damn close but.

I know the black handle part looks slightly different, but it will probably work.

Cheers

from memory there is a difference between xd-f to eb,can't remember if it's the handle or cable. I fixed a ed one few years ago with an xe one .just can't remember what the difference was.

From memory the latter model has square handle ..
I fitted an earlier hand brake in my XD years ago..
FYI a Mustang hand brake fits XP .. Just the Ford emblem is facing down..

xd/xe have bolts as part of the handbrake assy, xf onwards have the bolts as part of the floor so in theory you could use xf onwards and just use nuts+bolts and change the warning light switch over.

Nice an thanks guys. Will troll the wreckers for a half decent lever. I wish there was a way just to remove the top handle bit...alas this would not have been cost inneffective for Fraud! Lots about but in poorer condition than the one I broke... :(
